The creation of DAO setup wizard is the goal of our project. However, looking at current DAO problems we decided to first offer a more mature DAO model which could be customizable in many ways. We think that these two projects are the most promising DAO configuration frameworks as of now:
- Aragon (aragon.org) is the best-known DAO platform in the Ethereum ecosystem, which presents a secure framework for building DAOs, the ability to use a large number of smart contract templates and connect to Aragon Apps (Tokens, Voting, Finance, Agent, etc.). The platform is managed by the Aragon Network DAO ("AN DAO")[1]. The platform is developed by the non-profit Aragon Association (Switzerland). More than 3K DAOs have already been created using the Aragon platform, and AN DAO Treasury holds $200 million in assets.
- SuperDAO project (superdao.co) positions itself as “a shopify for DAOs”. Raised $10,5 in January 2022 from a number of VCs. Now under development.
Difference from JMC DAO setup wizard concept:
These platform offers what we call “first generation DAOs” with one mechanism (type) for each DAO to vote on all possible issues & all other corresponding problems attached. The customization of these DAOs require a team of developers, is slow and costly.
Our wizard will help to setup highly customizable DAOs because almost all DAO parameters are adjustable on-chain without the need to code. MIPT experts say this will speed up DAO customization 4x-20x or more thus proportionally decreasing costs.
[1] The structure of AN DAO includes three committees elected by the participants of AN DAO, organized as Sub-DAO: Executive Sub-DAO (control over treasury) , Tech Committee (integrates code), Compliance Sub-DAO (ethics, risks, etc, has veto power).
